If you hire us during or after the consultation, we will charge you a fee. The benefit of booking a consultation here is that you may still be eligible for a discount. Free consultation 

 

We offer a free consultation to those that are eligible. Please read the information below before booking a free consultation, so that your expectations are in line with ours.

  • You are eligible for a free consultation if:

    • You are now charged with a misdemeanor or felony crime;

    • The case is in Adams, Cumberland, or Franklin county;

    • You want and can afford to hire a lawyer for representation; and

    • You book the free consultation on our website using our scheduling app (which is below/to the right and on other pages of our site).

    If you're not sure if you can afford to hire us, please call in and let us know. We will be happy to give you a rough estimate before the consultation.

    If you can't afford to hire a lawyer for representation, please consider applying for a public defender.

  • If you have a free consultation, you are eligible for a discount as long as:

    • You book the free consultation on our website using our scheduling app; and

    • You hire us during or at the end of the consultation.

    But if you have a free consultation, you are no longer eligible for the basic or standard service plan discounts available through our online store. And the discounts for those plans may be bigger, as much as double the size.

  • The primary purpose of the consultation is to see if you and Steve Rice Law are a good fit, and to provide a quote, not to give out free advice.

    If you want to hire a lawyer, we believe we have a lot to offer. We want to talk to you. We want to interview for the job—as long as there is a job opening.

    If all you want to do is:

    • Get legal advice,

    • Get a second opinion,

    • See if you need a lawyer,

    • Get help doing it yourself, or

    • Just get some questions answered, about any of the above issues.

    We are happy to help, but we charge a fee for that service. Please get a formal consultation, available through our online store.

    If you want to hire us, but only if it’s “worth” it (i.e., we tell you want you want to hear), we are not interested. Please call someone else.

    We will not waste your time if you do not waste ours. We will be fair with you if you are fair with us.

    • The consultation is done on the phone.

    • The consultation lasts about 15 minutes.

    • The consultation is 100% free. There is no cost or obligation to you.

    • The consultation is 100% confidential. Even if you do not hire us, we will not tell anyone about what you said.

    • The consultation is with a lawyer. But we normally have a legal assistant do an intake first.

    • The consultation is scheduled at a specific time only if done on our website through our calendar app; otherwise, it is done during a break or block of time.
